18th Regular Session of the Technical and Compliance Committee

TCC18 Heads of Delegation Meeting - scheduled for Tuesday 20 September 4 - 5.30pm (Pohnpei time UTC+11) using the same Zoom meeting link

The TCC18 Online Discussion Forum (ODF) will commence one month before TCC18 (Monday 22 August 2022) and will provide an important platform for preparatory and supplementary work that will enable us to best utilise the limited time available in the Zoom plenary.  A Provisional list of TCC18 ODF topics is posted under the folder of Meeting Arrangements, but in summary:

• The regular reports that the Secretariat prepares (including the Executive Director’s Annual Report) will be included in the ODF with issues to be raised to plenary by exception only.
• Consideration of Cooperating Non-Member (CNM) applications will be undertaken through the ODF and reported to plenary.  
• Delegation papers or proposals may be considered through the ODF. 

As with last year, there will be opportunity for plenary discussion of ODF items where necessary under relevant agenda items.

CCMs are requested to provide delegation papers/proposals and/or requests for additional ODF topics at least 30 days ahead of the meeting, such that by Sunday 21 August 2022.

• Where a CCM requests creation of an ODF topic, they will be responsible for facilitating discussion and presenting summary of discussions and proposed recommendations to plenary where required. 

TCC18 participants must be registered and approved for the TCC18 meeting in order to participate in the ODF.  Support for registrations and using Zoom is available from the Online Meeting Resources helpdesk.

The TCC18 ODF will remain open through the TCC18 meeting to facilitate meeting discussions, and the tentative date to close the forum topics for further comments after 12h00 (Pohnpei time UTC+11) on Sunday 25 September.  A summary paper containing the TCC18 ODF discussions will be posted before the start of plenary on Monday 26 September (WCPFC-TCC18-2022-05).
