SC22 will consider the progress made in improving the timeliness and efficiency of the stock assessment process and discuss further measures to support the delivery of assessment outputs in time for members' peer review. SC22 will consider supporting earlier data submission by CCMs where feasible, provide feedback on the implementation of the standardised SciData submission process to facilitate further refinement, and discuss the prioritisation of Scientific Committee projects, including approaches to focus available resources on projects that directly support Commission priorities.

WCPFC22 requested the Scientific Committee and the Scientific Services Provider (SSP) to review the stock assessment workflow and identify practical measures to improve the timely delivery of assessment outputs for members' peer review prior to SC meetings. In response, WCPFC-SC22-2026-GN-IP06 provides an update on activities undertaken to improve the efficiency of the stock assessment process and support the timely delivery of scientific advice, while identifying remaining challenges and opportunities for further improvement.
